This classical Arts & Crafts style home was built on a 12-acre peninsula in a small fishing town on the Chesapeake Bay. With gracious porches and timeless architecture, this home was designed to become a gathering retreat for families & friends from generation to generation. Positioning the house with sunrise views from the front and back decks were paramount to the client. The endless deck, built just 100-feet from the bay, included a pool and nearby man made beach, which is the nucleus for outdoor activities. The home was designed to maximize views with a main structure with guesthouse connected buy a screened porch link, becoming the summertime entertaining mecca for meals. Reclaimed wormy chestnut flooring throughout was first painted turquoise then sanded down, stained and sealed to further enhance the aged patina. Each bathroom has an interesting collection of classical tiles and bead board walls. Whether a summertime retreat from hectic schedules or a wintertime weekend around a roaring fire, the home provides a year round escape to a life where time stands still.
